When to go to North America
North America generally has four seasons – Summer, Spring, Winter, Autumn, with some regions vary considerably in climate diversity.
Summer is generally from June – August. The Summer in most regions including USA, Canada, Alaska is warm to hot. Although even in Summer there are North American regions at high altitude that still receive snow (British Columbia, Oregon).
Winter is from December – February (although can extend to March) with cold to cool weather. Some regions such as Mexico generally have a mild winter.
Spring and Autumn are generally pleasant times to travel, keeping in mind there are Tropical Storms which occur in the midwest and around the Atlantic ocean from June through to November.
Peak seasons for most regions is from May to August (due to school holidays).
The best months to visit for value, access to facilities and when it is not too crowded are the months of April, May, September for the USA, Canada, Alaska, Mexico. The Caribbean from April – June.
